DAY 7: GOD'S DESIRE TO BE ASKED
God’s gift of his Son, Jesus Christ is just the beginning of everything that he desires to give his children. He gave the most precious gift so that we can be closer to Him in relationship. The separation between the Father and his children ended when He saved us from sin. We can now enter into his presence, knowing that we may trust our Father to supply in all our needs. “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs” (Matthew 5:3, NIV).
When we understand God’s love and his reasons for giving to us so generously, we no longer need to find it difficult to accept blessings from his hand. Instead, we may even feel welcome to ask Him for it. God desires that we share our wants and needs with Him, because that means that we have greater understanding of who He is. He confirms that wonderful relationship by giving us whatever we ask in Jesus’ name. “You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it” (James 4:2, NLT).
From now on, let us receive God’s gifts without hesitation, glorifying Him through them, and growing closer to Him each day.
A child asked God: “If everything is already written in destiny then why should I wish? God smiled and said: Maybe on some pages I have written “AS YOU WISH” – Unknown.
